Burnsville Legislators’ assertion on deadly Shootings in Burnsville

ST. PAUL, Minn. — 2 Burnsville police officers and a paramedic were fatally shot, and one other was wounded, in the early morning of Feb. 18 whilst Burnsville Police, scientific services, and different regulation enforcement agencies spoke back to a home disturbance call. 

The nation legislators representing Burnsville release the subsequent declaration:

“Our hearts pain for the primary responders who died inside the line of obligation this morning — three of our friends who committed their lives to carrier and preserving our community safe. Officer Paul Elmstrand and Officer Matthew Ruge, Burnsville Police department, and Adam Finseth, a firefighter and paramedic, were liked community individuals, buddies, and pals, and we are united in grief as we mourn the treasured lives that have been lost these days. We also keep Sergeant Adam Medlicott, who was injured in these days’s tragedy, in our ideas, and want for him all consolation and support inside the global as he is treated for accidents via clinical specialists.

The country legislators who constitute Burnsville are Senator Jim Carlson (DFL-Eagan) Senator Lindsey Port (DFL-Burnsville), consultant Kaela Berg (DFL-Burnsville), representative Jessica Hanson (DFL-Burnsville), and representative Liz Reyer (DFL-Eagan).

Elmstrand, 27, joined the Burnsville Police department in August 2017 as a community carrier Officer and was promoted to Officer in July 2019. He was once part of the branch’s cell command staff, peer group, Honor defend and area training unit. Ruge, 27, joined the Burnsville Police branch in April 2020 as part of the branch’s disaster negotiations crew and used to be a physical evidence officer. Finseth, forty, has been a Burnsville Firefighter/Paramedic when you consider that February 2019.
